The first thing you can check is that the air recirculation is off. When it is on, it traps moisture that the Defroster will struggle to remove.
If that isn't the problem, a stubborn and lazy Defroster could be from:
Clogged Vents
Clogged Dashboard Vents prevent air from reaching the windshield. Vacuuming the vents could solve the problem. But if the clog is too deep to reach by yourself, a Quality Automotive technician will be happy to help.
A Dirty Cabin Air Filter
Similar to a Clogged Vent, if your Cabin Air Filter is dirty, it could be the cause of your foggy Windshield. When the Cabin Air Filter clogs, the debris prevents air from entering the cabin. That lack of airflow makes it harder for your defroster to work.
Stuck Buttons
Buttons or knobs that control or affect the Defroster could be stuck. Move some knobs back and forth and unjam any buttons to see if that helps.
A Bad Blower
The blower could have a blown fuse, a damaged motor, etc. These would affect the ability of the Defroster. There are several other possible causes for a faulty Defroster. Call Quality Automotive at 908-362-9555.
